Wow. Primero, lo mejor: la grandiosa [livejournal.com profile] fujurpreux tradujo al espaƱol el discurso del video de Chimamanda Adichie. *___*

Well, my exam went.. hm.

Anyway, Tsubasa fandom, you aren't doing things better for me. I know people are young. I know, hell, I am. But my desire to just stop reading my fl was never so great. Seriously, from entitled KF fans, to "oppressed" Syao-Saku fans, with the gem "the Japanese are privileged because only them can see the shippy pics! Poor western us!"

What is with the stupid this week? I'm not going to tell people how to act about their fandom relationships and squees because that's just senseless, but could you, I don't know... get over yourself?

I want chocolate. I miss chocolate, damn it.

That "gem" reminds me of the outbursts in (predominantly American) gaming communities when certain video games are restricted to the Japanese market. Sure, you won't be getting this game any time in the foreseeable future, but what about all of the people in PAL regions (that is, most of Africa, Asia, and Europe) who are almost always forced to wait months or years for games released in the United States? Games that often end up being lower-quality than their Japanese and American counterparts?

ETA: Comment deleted and reposted because I forgot to mention that PAL also includes Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay in South America, as well as Australia. Likewise, I didn't take into account the long delays in translating Japanese-produced video games into languages other than English.

Yeah, well, I'm not exactly going to feel sorry for Europe soon any day about marketing "problems", but yeah to the rest.

PAL releases are usually described in a European context, too (i.e., "Mario Kart Wii is going to get an early release in Europe," not "Mario Kart Wii is going to get an early release in PAL regions"), so I wouldn't be surprised at all if fans outside of Europe have to wait even longer for certain games. -_-
