So

This woman apparently has had the ILLUMINATING and UNIQUE thought that POLITICALLY CORRECT BULLSHIT has gone out of hand. She will START A REVOLUTION against the corrupted blogging system. (That will end in her maintaining her right to say... racist jokes, I guess.)

Uhm. These (white, cis, able-boded, etc., etc., because I just love to say it - and even if I don't say it, it won't make it less true) people and their revolutionary epiphanies.

ETA: Also, people, I have to study so I won't be here much. Not that I was being uber-active these days, but just to be safe.

My favorite part: Hell, I have heard of black people who don't write black characters because they don't want to have to deal with well-intentioned idiots telling them they're doing it wrong.

Not to fall to the meme speak but, boo. Cry moar.

Yes, but you don't understand. Black or white, political correctness is the evil of the internet.

God, people suck.

... what.

I'm so fucking glad that on the second comment page there's a huge influx of people who have other things to say than THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME CARTE BLANCHE TO DISMISS ALL SOCIAL ACTIVISM.

_dahne_'s post had a lot of problems -- okay, the whole thing was a giant problem, since it's essentially about _dahne_'s wish to use easily-replaceable words like "retarded." He/She reduced disabled people's calls against ableism to a made-up fandom trend! I'm very gratified to know that, the next time somebody dismisses my fears over being discriminated against due to my hearing loss or disfigurement, I'm the one who's in the wrong.

I'll be honest, though, and suggest that there is some "bullying" going on when multiple people gang up on one person who made a bad choice of words...and keep on going even when that person made an honest, passive-aggression-free apology. Or when certain posters whip out foul language and calls of "WHITE, CIS, ABLE-BODIED, ETC., ETC."--because you love to say it, even if it's a bunch of broad accusations that might not be true at all*--as a matter of course, since there's no way these privileged, stupid people will ever understand. There's too much injustice and pain in the world for people to remain calm when explaining for the umpteenth time why/how other people are being transphobic, ablist, racist, sexist, and so on. Yet it does seem like we've reached a point where we're acting like genuine bullies, just because we think our problems suck so much that we need to take it out on the people who tip us over the edge.

*Yes, I know _dahne_ admitted to being able-bodied and cisgendered. That doesn't mean you painted everybody who rants against the imaginary specter of the P.C. Fandom Activist with the same brush.
