Via Kynn: Glee wins GLAAD award when it fails epically with its transmisogyny. And the comments at ONTD feminism brings the derailment to the house.

I'm in a Reborn's mood thanks to the latest chapter (I'm easy, okay) and was about to make icons of these. But then I liked them too much in this size I guess.

So have some Suzuki Adelheid's coloring, soon to be icons maybe:

Ooh, those pictures are beautiful.

Ah, the Glee fail continues.

You know? I keep being surprised at Glee winning ANYTHING EVER when it fails SO BADLY AT SO MANY THINGS. And I like the series. (... sorta. iffy. some days more than others. It comes and goes).

Also: oooooooooh those are preeeeeeeeeeetty *_* I love how you color, Vi.

ALSO. MISS YOU. ))= *clings*

Ahahahaha, yeah, I don't watch it but there is not a day someone isn't offended by something there. Seriously, the show is just good for white cis able-bodied people. Again.

GRACIAS NINA!!! <33333333333 YO TAMBIÉN TE EXTRAÑO! <33

I mostly watch it for the music and because I have the hots for one character, but it seriously, SERIOUSLY amazes me that it wins awards for anything when the show is still SO VERY, VERY ROUGH ALL THE TIME.

And it's not even good for them. I know many people on my FList get as headdesky as I do with Glee.

Besides, for all the diversity? The main focus on the show REMAINS on the white cast like woah. I just... seriously? More awards? Seriously?

Yeah, I mean, damn, I even saw Sociological IMages post on that on how all the characters featured in cover magazines and stuff are always the white able-bodied ones. When it is supposed to be "SO DIVERSE!!!" (dude, there is a reason I hate that word, diverse = white able cis straight people, and something else.)

Considering how the only PoC person who has frequent lines in Glee and some sort of character development is the Sassy Black Woman, who is also de best friend to the Token Gay Male. Other than her? The Asian girl Tina has barely gotten a few lines and nothing about her personal history, latino Santana is the Promiscuous Bitchy 'Bisexual', and the other two characters, Mike Chang and Matt SOMETHING have gotten about MAYBE four lines BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM.

Glee is so, SO far on the list of shows I'd use to point towards a 'well done show' that I seriously question myself why I keep watching it.

(Answer: the music. And that one male I'm attracted to. And the fact that they haven't managed to ruin Santana/Brittany)

I seriously hate that show and I'm never listening to anything GLAAD says again. Everyone thinks Kurt (the gay character) is so damn awesome but all I saw when I watched it was another flaming stereotype. Also, they've implied that the one adult gay(?) character might have preyed upon male high school students. WAY TO GO, GLAAD, FOR AWARDING A SHOW FOR IMPLYING THAT HOMOSEXUALS ARE CHILD MOLESTERS.

This is, of course, on top of all the transfail. Actually, when I watched the first episode (before they had Kurt come out of the closet), I was seriously hoping that he was a TRANS character because OMG that would have been so exciting. No dice, just a stereotyped gay character. Sigh.

Yeah, well, GLADD as well as most "mainstream" gay orgs fail in terms to trans issues. Always. (And I haven't watched the show, but I have heard a lot of shit about it, so don't going to lose my time with that.)

Also, they've implied that the one adult gay(?) character might have preyed upon male high school students.

Aaarg. And they awarded this show.
