Damn it, people, I'm sorry, Ken Leung will come tomorrow
I have an exam on Monday and the way I've been slacking is not even funny. I have... been reading shoujo manga. And my internet sucks.
But.
Dude. Dude. I enjoyed it immensely. Just... awesome.
Love, love the meta about shoujo tropes with the "Lovetic" manga inclusion. And the characters! Ryou! Ahahahahahahaha Ryou (with those name, come on, "Ryou" and "Asuka") is The Luffy or The Goku or however you call that character archetype. She doesn't have a clue about romance, I wonder if she knows that thing exists; she is all about honor, friendship, fights, stereotypically masculine traits, nakama! X'DDDDD Dear God. She is cool and A Prince without even trying. I tell you, The Luffy.
The commentary about femininity and masculinity is interesting, even if still kinda shallow. I can say it makes you wonder about the link between masculinity and violence. Specially with Ryou's father and Ariake's arcs, they made obvious that the only thing you need to be "a real man" is to know how to punch. Hm.
Pretty awesome though. Ryou in her white horse will be one of my favorite manga imagery ever.
