I'm grumpy, frustrated, so not wanting to deal with people right now. But I don't know if hunting for fic is even worth it.
Why, why is purple prose getting so popular these days?
I just want to read a some fic that doesn't make my head hurt with so much... flowery and descriptions that don't even make sense.

No, look, I like pretty prose. But there is pretty and there is... ugh. You know when you can't even follow what the hell is going on because reading the descriptions takes effort.
Like:
One day he stood on the newly erected stands, flimsy metal poles standing scant and half-formed about the squint and dug-up football pitch. They’d last a few games between the schools at the very least, these tall and unsettling metal bars.
You are describing those American football bar-things! And those aren't even relevant to the story! And it's not even that, it's when every sentence is like that.
And I have read so much like that lately.
.... wth the "your flowery prose debunks your argument about my privilege"? What. And I thought I have heard all the stupid arguments when talking about privilege.
