Dude, this took me a while, I know. But finally! And the hotness continues.
The woman is not only uber talent, she is also uber badassness.
Rotten Tomatoes in their Total Recall: The 25 Best Action Heroines of All Time, named her, yeah number one.

Edit: Changed the second pic for its retouched version because people were getting distracted. XD
Malaysian, born in Ipoh. Yes, I'm doing the uber famous ones so I just have to link to their IMDb profiles.

What can you say about a woman who's starred in over 20 action films, performed most of her own stunts, kept pace with James Bond, and held her own alongside legends like Jet Li and Jackie Chan? Frankly, we think her resume speaks for itself.

Regardless, yay for Michelle!

She looks amazing anyway. XD
Yay!
I heart her so much. And some of her more 'obscure' to American audiences movies are my favourites. Seriously, Silver Hawk = Michelle Yeoh as a Superhero and it has a more positive outcome than THE HEROIC TRIO (which I also love). Also THE TOUCH equals legacy heroes.
And she was a Bond Girl (making Tomorrow Never Dies, the only modern and non Connery Bond movie I could stand. Actually considering I'd always wanted Pierce Bronson to play Bond. TND equaled my fantasy Bond movie come to life and I haven't seen a need to follow the series ever again since).
*Yays s'more*
I heart her so much that for RP, I used her likeness as a grown up Jubilation Lee.
Yay!
Ahahaha, well, you know, I could never finish a Bond movie, I just can't stomach the guy, but maybe some day I will do it for Michelle. Or maybe I will look for another movie of her I will better. ;)
OMG, you RP?
Re: Yay!
Have to admit that the computer gaming systems that are supposed to be rp, but really are more 'kill this thing, get this thing, level up' - aren't really my bag. I get bored.
Re: PS
The one with Halle Berry just completely changed the tone. I think they tried to make everything sexier, younger and edgier. And it didn't work at all for Bronson's style. It made things seem very much, like Bond should have been shot like in XxX so someone with a younger sensibility could take the stage. That's probably why they rebooted and went for a younger, edgier actor like Craig in the first place.
Anyway, I liked Yeoh's character calling Bronson's Bond on his chauvanism and I liked that he treated it like a bad habit - a sensibility he training, not so much personality. While I was still surprised at Yeoh's 'Oh James' moment when it came, after long thinking about it, I decided that she could be charmed by his dedication to the job - it is actually admirable.
*is quiet now*
Re: PS
Whoa, interesting, seriously, I never watched them, and yeah, I have heard pretty good things about Yeoh's character, but still, the only one I watched decently was that one... The Word is not enough? I was pretty young, but still couldn't stand much of that "every woman on earth wants a piece of him" thing. Yuck.
Re: PS
Check it, in TND, his love interests are Terry Hatchet and Michelle Yeoh; mature, talented actresses. And in Goldeneye, the love interest there wasn't an ingenue. She had some chops, and Famke Jassen had chops. She was the muscle.
Then you have TWINE and DAD with women really being bloody airheads with titles and henchmen, or being used as henchmen for seduction. Cheesy, wrong, stilted and bad.
Terry and Pierce got to do a scene in TND where they discuss the fact that they're both too seasoned to play the 'I pretend to seduce you - you pretend to be seduced' and there's actually some dynamics going on about things they both regret of the choices they've made and what things have come to and how much danger Terry's character is in, because of the line she has to dance on.
It's... a grown up Bond. He's charming but he's not trying to be all playboy. It's the older, knowing, Bond, who looks at the pretty young thing and goes 'Maybe when you're older'.
*rolls eyes* And then they tried to sex it up with Denise Richardson in short shorts going 'I'm a nuclear physicist! Really I am!' And I don't know what the heck Halle Berry was supposed to be in DAD. All I saw was Catwoman going 'Really, I can act! Really!'
Wow... I can tell you the whole plot of TND, and most of the plot of Goldeneye. But I just peeked at Wikipedia and discovered I'd forgotten a whole bunch of stuff about DAD. It wasn't real at all, no wonder I forgot it. Gene disguise therapy and super lasers in space. Ugh.
Re: PS
Damn, you almost make me want to watch TND. If I end doing it, I will blame you. XD
