There has bee a lot of talk about this already.

Doumeki aged, Watanuki didn't. Watanuki doesn't act like Clow or Fei Wang Reed, he acts like Yuuko. He is trying to emulate Yuuko in a lot fo ways, even facial expressions (see last page).

Watanuki's development in XXXholic is painfully reminiscent of Tokyo Babylon's Subaru. We could make a lot of parallels in their stories, but let's wait for the series ending. The funny thing is that Yuuko would be his Seishirou and his Hokuto at the same time.

I'm sad about Himawari. It's pretty obvious Doumeki's relationship with Watanuki is more important than Himawari's one. Doesn't mean she isn't important, but she doesn't have the weight Doumeki's has, at least in what concerns CLAMP. I don't like Doumeki that much, but fortunately Yuuko is the most important influence in Watanuki's life and that's fine by me.

You just said that Doumeki's relationship with Watanuki was more important than Himawari's. Where did you get that from one chapter? I'm curious.

And it is. Himawari's is important, Doumeki's more, I did not get that for one chapter alone, I get it from all the series; the eye, the egg, the first person who appears after this. He gets WAY more "screen" time that Himawari's. It may not be something bad, not a big deal for everyone and it shouldn't be, just something I was commenting, and it's my own personal relationship with that, no one else.

Oh, see, that was entirely my misunderstanding. I thought you meant you'd gotten that from just this chapter as the start of a new series. Totally my bad. Sorry!

Ah no, it's fine! Don't worry.
