HERE SHE COMES

Oh. My. God.

No, seriously. Like. Oh my God.

Okay, first, bear with me. Who does a review of two episodes? Well, someone who has an internet that sucks major asses. I have troubles with youtube, okay?

Second. I can't remember an anime with so many brown major characters. Female characters. Amazing brown female characters (okay, two brown major female characters until now, but could write books about them).

It starts with a very Hollywood-like action scene. The action is all like that. I find it awesome anyway. (Atsuko uses whips to trap criminals.)

First episode was about Hana/Hatchin being abused by her foster family. Good, respectable (the priest even won awards for being such a good person!), religious, middle class (white?) people. Who abuse their foster kid (the ones "under them"). Rumors, wrong facts, and lies are their main weapons for obtaining power and acceptation (reforming the "criminal" who was shoot). On the other side of the fence we have the criminal, bad people. Poor, dark-skinned people. Michiko. People who scape from jail, who live outside the system, people who are rejected by society. People who save little girls from their abusive foster parents.

Second episode was about Atsuko/Michiko, and was my OMG SQUEEEEEE moment. Problematic it may be, it's two badass women being RIVALS. TWO BADASS BROWN WOMEN. Atsuko. Atsuko with her suit and tie, and her crossed arms. Atsuko, the respected cop. And her obsession with Michiko. Pretty Atsuko and her very unhealthy (does she like little girls?) tastes (I hope this isn't a case of "lesbians are perverts"). Atsuko not being sexualized, just badass.

Michiko. I want an icon of her sticking her tongue to Atsuko. Yes, she is hot and wears almost no clothes. It could be a problem, but I don't care. She is brown and badass, and the way she talks! Yes, brown women are "sassy," and temptress. But if they are kicking asses, riding a motorcicle in impossible badass ways, rescuing little girls, and having awesome rivalities with other brown women (and her main interactions are with women, men in the series don't react to her in a sexual way, by now), can I complain?

The fighting, with fists and kicks, in the interrogation room. The smirks and provocations. Atsuko screaming Michiko's name. I just love them.

Hatchin says she lied to Michiko, that she has the tattoo. But we don't see it. I wonder. Maybe she just don't want to be left aside.

I'm still wary about "Brazil." The old cars, the dirty and worn out walls. The decadent ambient. I don't know, we will see. I have some problems with the opening looking all "tropical" but whatever. XD (Oh, and a married priest?)

Anyway. I'm in love already.

ETA: Things that could be considered spoilers for episode 3 in the comments.

YAAAAAAAAY. I LOVE ATSUKO. I think she is my favorite. In like 3 episodes. XD

Yeah, well, I just finished the favela's episode. Hmmm, didn't like that. But anyway, I'm not Brazilian. Still, let's see. I'M SO HOPING TO SEE MORE. &hearts

I can understand that, yeah. :(b QUERÍA IGNORAR QUE ERAN LUGARES-COSOS EN CIERTOS MOMENTOS, pero hey, eso no me evitó disfrutarlo a mi. >> Lo demás lo compensa bastante.
