Chow Yun-Fat

Let's start with the obvious because people apparently totally forgot about Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and many others. Dragon Ball was a mess, but I think [livejournal.com profile] sha_chan was the one who can't remember who made that joke about all of their budget being paying Chow Yun-Fat.

So. Chow Yun-Fat.

Born in Hong Kong, his filmography is ginormous, so much I won't finish, so here is his profile at IMDb.

If you didn't know this much, this is going to be hard.

I had a huge mock argument with a Chinese-American friend of mine because I told her she was a Bad Asian for not thinking Chow Yun-Fat in Crouching Tiger, and also the King and I, was HAWT. She, in turn, accused me of being into Older Men.

I maintain that he is Very Very Fine.

I can tell I'm going to enjoy this series of posts! *g*

I didn't! But I immediately thought of this man when you mentioned the OMG NO ASIAN ACTORS yesterday.

He's so amazing *__________*

DO KEN WATANABE TOMORROW :DD ...wait, that sounds wrong, oops >.>

[identity profile] la-vie-noire.livejournal.com 2009-10-01 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
XDDD I WILL DO HIM. ...

Damn. XD Alguien del chan era, segura.

Uhuhuhuhu 8DDDDD

Aaaah, puede ser, puede ser! XD

... I want to go and rewatch Anna and the King now. (Which is a problematic movie starting with the very theme, I know, but he's so good in it.)

[identity profile] la-vie-noire.livejournal.com 2009-10-01 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2009-10-01 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Seh.

[identity profile] la-vie-noire.livejournal.com 2009-10-01 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
(Y mujeres siempre bien recibidas XD)

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2009-10-01 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] la-vie-noire.livejournal.com 2009-10-02 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Ooooh, gracias Lau!

XD

Gracias!

Hey, another you can add to the list! James Kyson Lee. He's working with Masi Oka right now in Heroes, but he's been in smaller parts in lots of other things too.

And I really like what you are doing here. Posting up the different actors with some pictures and spreading some love with awareness while making your point. I think it's a good idea. ^.^

(And you totally have to do Ken Watanabe and George Takei like were suggested above! ♥)

Oh oh and since someone mentioned Michelle Yeoh (who I would not have known the name of but did think of when you made this post!), you should do Zhang Ziyi as well. I was looking at her wiki and she's done some behind the scenes type Hollywood work as well, being able to vote for the Academy Awards and being on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival too.

If people don't see ANY Asian actors in Hollywood it's because they aren't looking or don't want to see. And there really should be more of them, more visible.

*shuts up now XD;;;*

You are right! OMG, him and Masi Oka, right! Thank you!

Yes, George Takei will be next! :)

Yeah, I was actually thinking on starting with Zhang Ziyi. XD But I figure the young ones will be best for later. Guess she will probably come soon!

Oh, yes, I don't doubt it.

Thank you, hon!
