I will admit it, I'm kinda biased here. I hate the main character and not because 'he is such a jerk!' (or at least not only for that), but because he is the white male lead who can say whatever the hell he wants because he has a bad leg (and, as my sister says: everyone, inexplicably, falls in love with him).

Anyway, I just watched this episode about a patient who was so nice, so perpetually happy that he had to be a product of a neurological disease. We all know how the science of the show doesn't have to be perfect, but I couldn't help but laugh out loud when House explained that people can't be really nice because when a caveman was nice with his enemy, he died. So nice people couldn't reproduce. And then he said something like '...SINCE EVOLUTION CAN'T BE WRONG.' Oh House, if only you knew about evolution.

I would have let this pass it if wasn't because, in the Pilot, House told Cameron that he hired her for 'her genetic gift of beauty, instead of her genetic gift of intelligence.' You know, genetic gift of intelligence. Like her genetic gift of having eyes.

I think the show writers wanted to make House and hardcore scientist, all is evolution yaddayada, and they didn't even bothered to google what a hardcore ~~pseudo~~science Evolutionary Psychology is.

I think he was. In that 'I will be an asshole because "science" and "moral standards" back me up anyway' way. Which I find very annoying because his arguments are really faulty most of the time.

I'm pretty sure he was believing it. XD And it's not like those were the only two times that I wished the writers would stop talking about evolution. Or any other thing.

Well, there is this Psychology's field that is called Evolutionary Psychology. I admit it, some 'scientists' like it, but it's generally based in stupid generalizations, 'studies' never properly done, and the likes. Completely ignores cultures, environment, etc. In my words, it's bullshit. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=evo-psych+science&btnG=Search the results on the first page were pretty amusing.

Anyway, all the things about 'nice people won't reproduce' and 'intelligence is genetic' (which is PROVED that is bullshit since most studies about IQ give higher results in areas more industrialized and the likes, and we all know intelligence is malleable) is Evo Psych talk. There.

(And as you can imagine, is one of the most sexist, racist fields out there.)
