Why am I still reading this series?

Sakura. Pumpkin pie. What are you doing?
I'm here wondering if CLAMP's characters have emotions besides 'I have to do this for the sake of my important person' (fear for their own lives? selfish desires that don't have anything to do with another person?). Then, in the middle of the combat when seeing their other friends suffering, they say "Oh yeah, maybe this wasn't such a good idea."
Syaoran was so much cliche that it hurts. I'm really wondering if CLAMP knows what depth means.
The ironic thing is that the only trace of human emotion in the chapter came from the secondary characters. Geo saying that he doesn't want to see people die in the arena. Eagle being a bastard but obviously, obviously having something in mind. Lantis looking like 'I can't do anything' and Geo getting frustrated.
Funny is that the Yuuko and price thing makes sense. She probably doesn't want the money so much as she wants them to win the fights. Maybe for team work, maybe for Syaoran to become Super Saiyayin, maybe for Sakura to control her heart. Like in Tokyo; Sakura getting the egg was more of a price than the egg itself.
And yeah. The Clon could be destroying a lot of worlds in the quest for feathers right now while they are 'playing.' But we know, thanks to the Shara/Shura arc, that the gang rapes the Time in their interdimensional travel. So it really doesn't matter. Of course, you will tell me, little one 'Then R!Syaoran could have arrived before the clon lost his heart in Tokyo' and I will tell you; well, that you should ask CLAMP. I'm just a simple human being.
The art was so much pretty. I will give them that. *drooling over Fay*
By the way, have you noticed how the clothes are always black? Even if they aren't playing? My theory is that Eagle has a law which says that nobody besides the 'white' team should use white clothes. So people are obliged to dress gothic clothes because this is The Mafia. Or maybe is because CLAMP wants us to notice the 'darker' ambient of the series. But that would be just boring.
