Now that we are on the topic
Khaos Komix is a webcomic about queer people. I just started reading, and have only read the fifth story called Tom's Story. Which is great. It deal with trans issues without being tragic and melodramatic. It's humorous and realistic, I think it's very positive, but also can be very triggering.
Tom's story is the story of a trans man, we also see something of Charlie's story, a trans woman who is his friend. Trans people in fiction well depicted. I know. It may not be perfect, nothing is, but it's damn good. Fresh air since trans people are extremely disrespected in media.
I guess I would have preferred to read about Charlie, sometimes she looked as a complement to develop Tom's story. Her crush on him kinda hurt. I like how she was treated though. I know something could be said about Charlie being uber feminine and Tom being hiper masculine. I don't think it's meant to represent all the trans population, but I know it can be problematic.
The violence against trans people was there. Classmates assaulting and abusing Charlie more than Tom. He even says something among the lines of "nobody objects of a chick dressed in boy's clothes," comparing the abuse he receives to the one Charlie gets. Of course it's true. There is no sexual abuse against Charlie yet, and I'm glad about that.
I loved the supportive parents and that this wasn't a tragedy but a positive story about two trans people. Though it was kinda funny that Charlie's mother talked like a rad-fem the first time Charlie came out to her.
I think is awesome that Tom's prospective gay love-interest is shorter and less stereotypically masculine than him. Doesn't look like we will get the "trans men have to be more feminine" trope.
I have to admit I haven't finished Tom's story, but it looks really good so far. Very recommended.
In other issue: Tsubasa fandom. Get over yourself. Entitled Fandom should be a second name for CLAMP's fandom. *rolls eyes to the infinite*

EDIT: Never mind the might, already started reading. XD
And I'm in total agreement with you about the eyeball-rolling. I've been a CLAMP fan for years and you can pretty much see where they're going with things. This is pretty much what I was expecting, and while it sucks that they had a furiously 2D villain, there's nothing to be done about it now. Also, no way in hell anyone should have expected them to tie up every single storyline. The moaning about the vampires is driving me up the wall. Totally can't wait for the epilogue though so hopefully my heart can stop bleeding. Kuro looked so saaaaaaaaaad. T.T

It's really well managed, isn't it? :3 Not perfect, obviously, but it shows that the author is queer and has done his/her research. Good storytelling, too. DFJSKDJFKL I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
(I saw Charlie's mom more like a hippy, but yeah, I lol'd.)
Tom's story is my favorite <333
