Me dí cuenta que post anterior usé como 3ra vez 'Porque yo lo valgo' de asunto. Si seré original

I saw that damned OVA! It was gorgeous from beginning to end, definitely the best of the three as far as animation is concerned.

The characters looked amazing. Hell, Kurogane looked good, it almost gave me a heart attack. (C'mon, he never looked okay before.)

I have to say it gave me a completely different feeling from the manga. Sakura's action scenes were powerful. The part where that metal bar got trough her leg was painful to watch.

I don't know if it was on purpose, but I loved the juxtaposition of the scene in which Sakura shot the mutant with the one where Fay waked: everything is changing. She decided to hurt others to get what she wanted, he was about to show the hidden side of his personality and changing every relationship by that.

I would have loved its gender issues if I didn't know the series and that this was the exception rather than a... one-stand or something that always happened. Sakura was the one who went to action, was horribly hurt and didn't look any remotely good when she came back while all the men were looking pretty waiting for her.

Okay, I will finally talk about PRINCESS TUTU!

Well. So much to say, so little time.

I will just talk about my general impressions because I will never end otherwise.

I already told [livejournal.com profile] daikon_kamen how I loved the way they subverted that final. The Story functioned like a machine made of clocks, nuts, handlers and stuff: the mechanism that every story has that works due to a series of devices. They had to break those devices to stop the story.

So Rue had to sacrifice herself for Mythos by confessing her love. Mythos had to love Rue instead of Tutu (choosing Odille over Odette). Fakir had to leave the sword for the pen, and Ahiru had to dance as a duck.

I will never get tired of saying how much I loved the part where they were all 'I can't do it, I'm not a knight' 'I'm only a duck,' and, instead of going by the fairy-tale magical change, they made their Happy Ending as a duck and a writer!

So in the end subverting their roles in the Story was the only way to win over the Raven.

Rue ended like my favorite character. I was wondering why she wanted so much her 'father' love even if he treated her like that. That was perfectly answered, as well as why she clung to Mythos in that way.

I didn't like so much that she ended like the damsel in distress at the end, I kept hoping she would do something to free herself of her father. But the story was about subverting Swan Lake, so I don't complain much.

But I LOVED how Ahiru saved the day dancing as a duck, and Fakir was there writing for her! They were an awesome pair until the end.

I know there is a lot say about this series. I didn't even touch half of the meta there, but I got tired only writing this entry.
