Or, in english because I can:
I FINALLY started to watch Princess Tutu. Youtube was my only option, and they had only up to episode 11. Now I watch the rest at a site called Veoh or something.
I just finished episode 13, spoil me and die.
I wish I could make a better analysis of the series, the meta, and stuff. Sadly, I can't remember every detail and re-watching it's not a possibility. You know why.
It was... METATASTIC (yeah, I just created that word). And I LOVE (most of) the characters.
I loved how they handled the fairy-tales themes, narrative and archetypes. I LOVE how "Ahiru is only a duck, Fakir is only a human, and Rue is...." I can't remember what Rue was, but she was awesome anyway.
The problem is I can't stand Mytho. He wouldn't have been so bad by himself (he has the personality of an amoeba and I know it's deliberate), but it annoys the hell out of me how everyone on the show is so fucking nuts for him. And they fight, torture themselves, suffer emotionally in the worse ways, only for him. Because Ahiru, Fakir and Rue are so awesome, I wish they would forget about Mytho and... live happily ever after in a polyamory way.
Of course it's just a pet peeve of mine. After all, he is the prince. Who has to be saved. Which is good, I think.
I love how Ahiru is the ultimate heroine, and Fakir has to sacrifice himself to make her the hero because he can't even touch Rue (another woman). And we have a final match in which stereotypical feminine abilities (dancing) decide how things go and not masculine ones (brute force) - of course, it's because Mytho had to choose; but let's just forget about that. Seriously, I was so in love with the series at that point.
Bu then it came the happy 'ending' that wasn't supposed to happen. Thank God I know the series continues, I would be so mad otherwise.
It annoyed me how Mytho just choose, how Ahiru and him were supposedly happy. How Fakir ended there, hurt and alone; and Rue was devastated and hating herself again. I hope they subvert all this. I HOPE.
Another thing I didn't quite like was the dichotomy of white-pureness-good/black-sexuality-bad of Tutu/Kraehe. Kraehe was obviously evil and sexualized, when Rue was neither. But I'm sure things would go better for Rue because they gave her character development. They won't leave it all in nothing when they showed she developed feelings for Ahiru.
Anyway, overall, I'm excited for this. I'm silly in love with Fakir, btw (Ahiru and him are such a wonderful pair, even in they don't end like that).
You know, don't spoil me. About anything.
Isn't this the most awesome thing ever?
danly. ;_;
ETA: TENGO SHONEN MAGAZINE.

If you're talking about me, understanding your Spanish isn't a problem. >3 (I just can't write back in it!)
it annoys the hell out of me how everyone on the show is so fucking nuts for him.
*coughs* Yeah, pretty much. And I agree with the "grrr"-ing over sexualizing Kraehe and having Rue (and Ahiru, and Tutu) be more "pure." And I won't say anything else, because first you have to finish the series. :)
I'm amused that you talk about Princess Tutu and Nietzsche in the same post! I can't comment on him, because I never felt enough desire to find ways to disprove Christianity to read his works (*raised atheist*).

..................... OMG. OMG. That was... perfect. EXACTLY. (And damn, I love your writing, you know I have read all of When He was a Girl when I'm not touching House since like... forever. It was an amazing read by the way. ^^;)
Yes about Kraehe. But say no more! I will read your posts when I'm done with the series, or maybe we can discuss it later?
I'm amused that you talk about Princess Tutu and Nietzsche in the same post!
XD Amused because... it's weird as hell? Or, is there something spoilerific that I can't know (don't say what it is if that the case!)?
You know, my friend up here is kinda nuts for him; XD so when I found The Antichrist at

Of course! I look forward to it.

Yes, weird! You tell me how much overlap there is between anime fans and readers of hardcore philosophy!
those parts would be good to read because our western morals are based on Christianity in most ways
*nods* Yes, you can't live in the Western world without getting overloaded in Christianity, be it through the education system, through culture (both pop and ancient), friends... it permeates our existance. I've critically examined Christianity, but haven't gotten around to Nietzsche. Should I?

XDD Seriously. I bet the tags 'Princess Tutu' and 'Nietzsche' make some combination there.
Exactly. I don't know if you should read it, though. He is full of misogyny and some essentialism, his view towards Jews made me uncomfortable... And the hierarchies.
I liked Foucault better (even if they are completely different philosophers) in the 'breaking Christian's morals' aspect - the guy even said pedophilia was OK if it was consensual (I know! But it was interesting to read).
